Antibody production became a routine process in biological laboratories and companies. The whole process works according definite immunisation scheme independently on the nature of the immunogen.
What is forgotten behind the standardisation of each process is that each protein and any biological molecule possess individual biochemical and structural features. If this essential property is not taken into account one can miss the chance to produce antibodies with a strong and correct immunogenic response.
Of course we keep the whole immunisation project under standard immunisation scheme but we also take in account the biochemical and structural properties of your antigen and may vary the protocol depending on the requirements of your antigen. Even small molecules of non-protein nature give a good immunogenic response in our hands!

- Peptide design and the choice of the carrier molecule.
It is the first and essential step for the immune response of the antibodies. Our specialists will analyse in details the structure of your antigen with no additional costs for you.
- Conjugation of the correct carrier protein or other molecule to your antigen
- Immunisation and bleeding scheme designed for your antigen.
Not each antigen will give strong positive signal after 3 – 4 immunisations. We will continue the immunisation as long as it is required to get good results. You will decide when the immunisation project should be finished and how much of the serum you would like to have.
- Quality control of the serum after each bleeding.
You would like to do it yourself? No problems! We will keep with you in contact during the whole procedure of the immunisation project and you will get the test-aliquot serum after each bleeding.

Would you like to do some additional immunisations, change the immunisation protocol or have more serum than just 50 ml? We will be glad to discuss with you any detail of the antibody production project.

- Optimisation of antibody dilution titer.
You have no time for testing your antibodies and finding the best dilution for ELISA or Western blot? We will do that for you. You will get the quality control of your antibodies by ELISA or Western Blot together with the final report.
- Storage of antibodies
Do you have many people working with antisera? Or maybe you do not have too much time for aliquoting and storing antibodies and keeping them in order? No problems. We will keep antibodies in our company and will deliver you the desired amount at any time!
Polyclonal antibody production protocol (in rabbits)

| Day 0: | preimmune bleed (5 ml); amount may be changed according to your request |
| Day 1: | 1st immunization with antigen in Complete Freund’s Adjuvant (CFA) |
| Day 20: | 2nd immunisation with antigen in Incomplete Freund’s Adjuvant (IFA) |
| Day 30: | 3rd immunisation with antigen in IFA (test bleeding 15 – 20 ml) and shipment of small portions for immunological analysis |
| Day 40: | 4th immunisation with antigen in IFA |
| Day 60: | Final bleeding (in the case of positive results) |
The results of testing will determine whether the protocol should be continued, modified or terminated. The further immunisation will be performed according to your request.
Polyclonal antibody production against proteins and other biological molecules
For immunisation of 2 rabbits (standard procedure) we will need about 1 to 2 mg of antigen in various forms:
- soluble native or denatured
- membrane native or denatured
- native or denatured protein excised from polyacrylamide gel. The imidazol staining for excising of the protein band is preferred.
Polyclonal antibody production against peptides
If you wish to raise polyclonal antibodies against peptide the procedure will include:
- the epitope analysis of the protein of interest (free of charge)
- peptide synthesis
- addition of C- or N-terminal cysteine residue prior to conjugation to
keyhole limpet haemocyanin (KLH)
bovine serum albumine (BSA)
ovalbumin
thyroglobulin
